International Buddhist Academy

The International Buddhist Academy is situated in Pallekale, Kundasale. It is surrounded by a beautiful and a peaceful environment with estate bordering Kandy – Hanguranketha Road, providing a panoramic view of hills and dales.

The primary objective of the Centre is to provide facilities for local and expatriate monks to do further education in Buddhism. The Centre comprises facilities (lecture halls, library and computer Centre, language labs, conference rooms, Buddha image shrine, etc.) for academic, religious and cultural activities with residential facilities. Meditation with reputed instructors is a keynote program to enhance the mental development of the trainees. The main feature of the complex is the auditorium of 1000 seating capacity.

The infrastructure facilities include administrative facilities, rest rooms, alms halls, living rooms, maintenance office, etc.

The Academy's primary goal is to achieve the highest standards in the educational and religious spheres; and its academic level is on par with the university level.
