The Sacred Tooth Relic

The 'Gandhakuti' was the chanmber of the incenced house where the sacred tooth relic has been kept for veneration. The covering made out of diamond which wa completely bullet proof was an offering to the sacred tooth relic by revererend Rimpo Nayake Thero of Eheji Temple japan. 

Inside this large casket another six caskets were kept.

The key to Open all this casket were kept with most venerable Mahanayake Theros of Asgiriya and Malwaththa and lay custodian of Sri Dalada Maligawa - the Diyawadana Nilame. To open all this casket the presence of all three is essential
