FOUR FESTIVAL
Kartika Festival ( Kartika Mangallaya )
This festival is held in November each year. The Kartika Mangalle which constitutes a festival of lights apparently has been influenced by the Kartika festival of the Hindus. During this festival, the delegated men from ancient temples gather at the Natha Devale, where the presiding divinity is Mahayana Bodhisattava, Avaliktesvara Natha. It is the tradition to distribute oil to temple authorities who have gathered there, while the required oil is supplied by the Temple of the Tooth. The other significant event on this day is the holding of the Dalada procession together with the Devala processions in a mini scale.
