| International Buddhist Museum |
| Sri Dalada Maligawa has planned the establishment of an International Buddhist Museum together with the Sri Dalada Maligawa Library in a single building for the benefit of numerous visitors to the Sri Dalada Maligawa. The two-storeyed old High-Court building adjacent to the Dalada Maligawa has been donated by His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka to the Temple authorities for this purpose.
All Buddhist countries have been invited by the Temple to establish the Museum as joint venture. Master plan prepared by the Project Director has already been approved and several countries have already signed agreements and are planning to commence work shortly. It is expected to complete the Museum by the end of year 2009. Once complete the International Buddhist Museum at the Sri Dalada Maligawa would be the first of its Kind in the Buddhist world and would be added attraction to the visitors of the Sri Dalada Maligawa. |
