Aluth Sahal Mangalya held in Kundasale

The Annual cultural festival of “Aluth Sahal Mangalya” held yesterday (04/01/2012) in Pallekale. This is a traditional event which performed from the time of kings who ruled the Kandyan kingdom centuries ago.
In this cultural event, the newly harvested rice and grain were given to the temples and Devales that related to Sri Dalada Maligawa. The harvest was kept in ‘Sri Dalada Maligawa Atuwa’ and the rice was given to the temples and devales after a cultural festival and a pageant participated by honorable Diyawadana Nilame.
Sri Dalada Maligawa Atuwa was originally situated in “Gurudeniya”, After the Mahaweli Project it was re-established in Kundasale.
After collecting from Atuwa , it was kept in “Gangarama Vihare“ in lewalla.
After that in 05/01/2012 harvest is brought to Sri Dalada Maligawa by a pageant and finally in January 08 th Poya day, a Dana will be prepared and offered to the Tooth Relic by the newly brought grain.
