Address to the Nation by the President Maithreepala Sirisena at the esplanade , Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy.
The Maithreepala Sirisena the 6th executive president, Sri Lanka, after offering pooja’s to the Sacred Tooth Relic in the morning, in his address to the nation at the esplanade, Sri Dalada Maligawa Stated that, while steps are being taken to maintain the high traditions and development of “Sri Buddha Sasana” Will take all the possible steps to maintain high integrity of all the other religions.
The newly appointed President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Hon.Maithreepala Sirisena visited the Historical Temple of the Tooth Relic Today (11.01.2015).
This has been organized as a Royal Ceremony, And the newly appointed Prime Minister Hon.Ranil Wickramasinghe and Former President of Sri Lanka Mrs.Chandhrika Kumaratunge and a group of National Leaders took part in this event.
The Annual New Rice Festival of Sri Dalada Maligawa
Out Of the four main festivals held annually from the days of kings’ the annual new rice festival was held day before yesterday 04th, 2015 at Sri Dalada Maligawa.
The Relics for depositing at <strong>“Sanda Hiru Saya”</strong> constructed at Anuradhapura were Ceremonially taken yesterday (12th of 2014).
The relics so taken in special procession from the President’s Palace reached Sri Daldada Maligawa, Kandy in the evening.
Thousands of people who gathered there received the relics gracefully in veneration. The relics were deposited at the new shrine room by Hon. Pradeep Nilanga Dela (Diyawadana Nialame of Sri Dalada Maligwa).
